Some history...
In mid 2006 a few people got together to attend a workshop on West Coast Swing in Auckland, New Zealand. Most of them had seen a demonstration by Robert Cordoba and Deborah Szekely when they were in New Zealand in 2005 and were inspired by what they had seen. Subsequently they continued to meet from time to time to work on the basics and practice what they had learned.
In the meantime, one of these guys rented half the top floor of an old factory that has become known as 'THE LOFT'. It is now the home of West Coast Swing. The group started meeting informally on Monday evenings at THE LOFT and after a few sessions and a couple of Sunday afternoon 'tea dances' more people became interested in learning more.
Originally called WCS@THE LOFT the name was changed to swingFX in January 2007.

We're excited to say that we are growing, albeit steadily, at this stage, so keep an eye on the latest events on our web site & come and join us here in Auckland.
